Lakelands Master Gardeners Inc. (LMGA) is a non-profit corporation that is affiliated with the Clemson University Extension Service. The Lakelands Master Gardener program serves all people regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religion, disability or national origin.
2017 MASTER GARDENER CLASS INFORMATION
If you are interested in becoming a Master Gardener and would like
information about the classes, there will be an orientation meeting on Monday, July 10th
at 6:00pm at the Clemson Extension Office, located at 105 N. University St, Greenwood. To attend, please RSVP
by calling 223-3264 or email debbiep@clemson.edu
Actual classes will be held for 14 weeks on Tuesday evenings, August 15th through November 14th, 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
at the Clemson Extension Office. The cost is $300, with a limited number of partial scholarships available. Classes cover a broad
range of horticulture subjects. There may be a test given each week, and there also is a final exam. Upon completion, the student
is required to volunteer 40 hours their first year to complete their Master Gardener Certification. Thereafter
20 volunteer hours per year are necessary to maintain certification as an active Master Gardener.
